Room

Built in 1996, Malagas Hotel is a 51 - room "Old Cape", styled establishment, inclusing 6 cabins on the 'Breede River Queen' houseboat, which provides elegant accommodation, well-prepared meals and old- fashioned hospitality. Our top priority is to provide our guests with tranquility and relaxation, that "home-away-from-home" atmosphere and complete peace of mind during your stay with us.

The hand drawn pontoon which started operating in 1860 is still going strong today and this is a major attraction in the area - and is today still displayed on our logo.

Whale watching season is from June to November each year. The Southern Right whales congregate here with their calves at the river mouth at Infanta. The calves come right into the mouth at the river and stay here for about 6 months until they have been weaned from the mother.
This is a special experience which touches the soul!

Our specialized weddings are a must! Imagine getting married on a houseboat - cruising down the river at sunset!
We have the perfect surroundings and facilities to make this, your wedding, a perfect day.

Accommodation
The Hotel boasts 24 twin rooms, 17 family rooms and 4 large family rooms, each with bathroom en suite and tastefully decorated. Their wooden beams and classic "rietdak" ceilings are a feature of the entire hotel, complimented by wonderful paintings by the owner's Mother.

As most of the rooms are equipped with a fold up sleeper couch, we are able to offer extra accommodation should it be required. Our meals are best described as "South African Home Cooking" and are designed to be tasty, wholesome and include many favourite traditional dishes. A selection of local wines are available to compliment your meal. Meals are table d' hôte. A hearty full English Breakfast is available and Pub Lunches are served at our "Moxies Bar" & enclosed varanda or outside under shade or sun.

We also have 2 fully equipped Conference Centres that facilitate up to 64 and 120 people. DVD Player, Flipcharts, overhead projector and VCR are included for your use.
