Steenberg Hotel Vineyards

Steenberg Hotel a historic wine farm on the foothills of the magnificent Stone Mountains, provides the setting for this gracious five star hotel, voted Best Luxury Hotel in South Africa - AA Accommodation Awards 2005. It's a beautiful destination ... combining the peace and serenity of exquisite accommodation amongst vineyards with an award winning winery and a 18-hole championship golf course. Ideally situated a mere 20 minutes from the centre of Cape Town.

Accommodation at Steenberg has 5 Star Hotel status. 21 en-suite rooms and the 3 new Heritage Suites. The hotel buildings (1682) with the Manor House, Jonkershuis and the Barn have been declared a National Monument, lovingly restored and decorated traditionally with antiques in the elegant styling of the 17th Century and their own lounges... a gracious combination of old world charm and modern conveniences. Premier rooms are modern with open plan spaces and feature terraces with vineyard or golf course views. Many of the rooms have private patios where one can enjoy time alone in contemplation, revitalizing the senses.

Winery Steenberg is the oldest wine farm in the Constantia Valley, one of South Africa's premier wine growing regions. The two flagship wines, Sauvignon Blanc Reserve and Catharina’s, a red Bordeaux blend, have won many acclaims under winemaker John Loubser's excellent guidance. With currently 62 hectares under vine, other varietals are Merlot, Shiraz, Nebbiolo, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc Loire, Steenberg Cap Classique, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

A pool bar that is the epitome of style. Relax on the comfortable pool loungers whilst taking in the breathtaking views of the Steenberg Mountains and beyond. The pool is large enough to have a decent swim and knowledgeable and well trained staff are discreetly present to satisfy one’s every need. For sparkling winter days there is a heated pool for the dedicated swimmer.

Golf A championship 18-hole golf course designed by Peter Matkovitch surrounds the hotel. Special green fee rates are extended to hotel guests. The course was designed to make full use of natural features and hazards. Its environmental diversity gives the course its unique character. In addition, the Cape boasts a number of other championship golf courses situated in close proximity to the hotel making Steenberg Hotel a worthy and sought after golfing destination.

The Spa at Steenberg The ambience is earthy and relaxing. Each treatment room is spacious and comfortable encapsulating the essence of wellbeing. The serene setting and the gentle, yet powerful energy radiating from the Steenberg Mountains add to the special aura. A multi-faceted therapeutic service is on offer. The 90 minute ScenTao Hot Stone Therapy Massage is an unforgettable experience for any massage enthusiast. Various Golf treatment combinations are available.
